DOH Issues FAQs for 2020 LHCSA and ALP LHCSA Statistical Reports

The Department of Health (DOH) posted the 2020 Licensed Home Care Services Agency (LHCSA) and Assisted Living Program (ALP) LHCSA Statistical Reports last week. Members can access the Dear Administrator Letter (DAL) here and learn more about the requirement and access the DAL attachments here.

This week, the Department also issued two Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ) documents for the reports. The LHCSA Statistical Report FAQ: Attachment 4 and ALP LHCSA Statistical Report FAQ: Attachment 5 answer technical questions to help agencies access the reports in the Health Commerce System (HCS), offer troubleshooting recommendations, answer questions regarding applicability of the report for providers, and define terms referenced in the reports.

Members should note that the report also serves as the 2022 annual registration process for LHCSAs. Failure to complete and submit the reports will result in the following penalties:

  • A $500 fine will be assessed for each month, or part of a month, that the organization is not registered.
  • Agencies that are not registered will not be allowed to operate until they become registered.
  • Agencies that fail to register timely for two years, not necessarily consecutive, may have their licenses revoked.

Questions, comments, and concerns may be sent to HCStatRpts@health.ny.gov.
