January 2021 Nursing Home Rates
The Department of Health (DOH) has posted the January 2021 nursing home Medicaid rates on the Healthcare Financial Data Gateway section of the Health Commerce System (HCS). They can be found under the title of “2021 Nursing Home Initial Rates updated case mix.” Although the Dear Administrator Letter (DAL) was released on Aug. 19th, there was a brief delay in the posting of the rates, which occurred on Aug. 23rd. The January 2021 rates have been updated to reflect the July 2020 Minimum Data Set (MDS) collection. The rate changes will be reflected in Medicaid payment cycle 2296, which has a check release date of Sept. 8, 2021.
The DAL referenced capital component changes that impact for-profit facility capital rate setting and should not impact LeadingAge NY nursing home members.
