For the fourth year in a row, United Hebrew of New Rochelle has been recognized with the highest rating possible for its short-stay rehabilitation facility for 2021-2022 by U.S. News & World Report. Of the 13,500 facilities evaluated, just 1,651 earned the coveted “High Performing” rating. That places United Hebrew’s short-stay facility among the top 12% in the nation.

The designation is awarded only to facilities that satisfy the U.S. News’ assessment of the appropriate use of key services and consistent performance in quality measures that impact resident care, safety and outcomes. Those measures include consistency of registered nurse staffing, use of antipsychotic drugs, success in preventing falls, and, new this year, COVID-19 vaccination rates. The rating aims to provide patients with a clearer view of the quality of care provided by nursing homes to short-stay patients in need of intensive rehabilitation or nursing services before they return home after a surgery, stroke, accident or illness.

“We are extremely proud to again earn this ranking, which is a testament to our hard-working staff who provide the highest quality of care 24/7 to our residents,” says Rita Mabli, President/CEO. “Finding a safe, professional, and well-regarded short-term rehabilitation center quickly after major surgery or life-changing health event can be a stressful process. This important information can help families select facilities of the highest quality for their loved ones.”

Ms. Mabli values its partnership with Burke Rehabilitation Hospital, which brings therapists from the renowned facility to United Hebrew.

“Highly-trained staff and our state-of-the-art equipment is what helps our short-term patients to speedily regain their mobility, balance, and independence so that they may return home as fast as possible,” she added. “What’s more, our therapists really care. The compassion they impart toward our patients complements the expert care they receive.”
