DOH Adds Questions to LHCSA HERDS Staffing Survey

Licensed home care services agencies (LHCSAs) should note that the Department of Health (DOH) has issued the following Integrated Health Alerting and Notification System (IHANS) message regarding the addition of some questions to the LHCSA Staffing Survey starting Tues., Oct. 12th:

IHANS Notification for COVID-19 Licensed Home Care Services Agency (LHCSA) Staffing Survey

The COVID-19 Licensed Home Care Services Agency Staffing Survey is used to capture data necessary to inform the Department for policy decisions.

This survey will not be required over the holiday weekend of October 9-11, 2021, but will commence again at 8:00 a.m. on Tuesday, October 12, 2021, and will be repeated daily until further notice.

LHCSAs should be alert to additional Workforce Reduction questions that have been added to the survey.

Companies or organizations with more than one license number are expected to complete the survey for each license number. All LHCSAs are expected to submit the survey except for those LHCSAs solely serving Assisted Living Programs.

The survey is due by 3:00 p.m. Agencies that fail to respond may be referred for enforcement which can include fines of $2,000 per occurrence. Agencies that wish a copy of the day’s report should print a copy before submission.

All concerns regarding inability to staff cases once other options have been exhausted should go to the Surge and Flex Operations Center by calling 917-909-2676. Other concerns that occur after hours should be communicated to the New York State After-Hours Duty Officer at 1-866-881-2809.
