DOH Issues DAL Reminding ACFs of Evacuation Planning and Emergency Contact Requirements

The Department of Health (DOH) issued a Dear Administrator Letter (DAL) on Sept. 7th regarding concerns about the status of some adult care facilities (ACFs)' evacuation plans, outdated contact information in the Health Commerce System (HCS), and outdated emergency contact information. The DAL encourages ACFs to attend a virtual training session to review best practices in updating and reviewing the facility’s Comprehensive Emergency Management Plan (CEMP) and the associated evacuation plans intended to protect the health and safety of ACF residents and staff during an emergency event. Some members may have participated in this training, as it is the same training that LeadingAge NY worked with the Office of Health Emergency Preparedness (OHEP) to provide across the state, in person, a few years ago.

Click here to view the DAL and here to view the instructions on how to access the training on the Learning Management System (LMS).
