2022 Minimum Wage Survey Now Available

We want to make sure member facilities are aware that the State’s 2022 Minimum Wage Survey is now available. The Department of Health (DOH) is surveying health care providers to determine the financial impact of minimum wage increases for calendar year 2022. The DOH 2022 Minimum Wage Survey for nursing homes is available here. Data from the survey will be used to calculate the 2022 minimum wage add-ons. Surveys are due by COB Fri., Oct. 15, 2021. For further details, please see this Dear Administrator Letter (DAL).

The minimum wage for the New York City region reached the statutory minimum wage of $15 per hour effective Dec. 31, 2018 and forward; therefore, no minimum wage survey will be required for that region.

Our understanding is that the 2022 upstate minimum wage has not yet been determined. The survey instructions that suggest upstate providers do not need to complete the survey are under review and may need correction. Upstate nursing homes should consider completing the survey prior to the Oct. 15th deadline. The upstate minimum wage phase-in is approaching $15, but the 2022 upstate minimum wage will be published by the Department of Labor (DOL) on or before Oct. 1, 2021, based on the Division of the Budget (DOB) analysis of economic factors including the Consumer Price Index (CPI).

If you have any questions regarding the Minimum Wage Survey, please send an email with the subject line "Minimum Wage" to nfrates@health.ny.gov.
