Dec. 14th COVID-19 Update

New COVID-19-related updates for providers of long-term/post-acute care (LTPAC) and senior services continue to be shared on a regular basis by both state and federal authorities. The latest developments are discussed below.

Governor Hochul Announces New Mask Mandate

In light of rising COVID-19 cases and hospitalizations, and in alignment with the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention’s (CDC) recommendations for communities with substantial and high transmission rates, Governor Hochul has announced a new mask mandate, which took effect on Dec. 13th. Here is what this means for you.

Provider Relief Phase 4 Distribution

On Dec. 16th, the Department of Health and Human Services (HHS), through the Health Resources and Services Administration (HRSA), will begin distributing Provider Relief Fund (PRF) Phase 4 General Distribution payments to health care providers who experienced revenue losses and expenses related to COVID-19. Click here for more information.

Reminder: LeadingAge NY to Host Monoclonal Antibody Therapy Webinar on Dec. 21st

LeadingAge NY reminds members that it will be hosting a free webinar entitled Monoclonal Antibody Therapy for COVID-19: What LTC Providers Need to Know on Tues., Dec. 21st from 1 to 2 p.m. Monoclonal antibody therapy is a potentially lifesaving treatment for COVID-19 infection and can help prevent COVID-19 in patients and residents who are exposed to the virus. The webinar will cover appropriate uses of monoclonal antibody therapy for COVID-19, indications and contraindications, administration routes and monitoring, and adverse events.
