LeadingAge NY Joins HCA and HCP in Press Conference Urging Passage of LHCSA RFO Repealer Bill

LeadingAge NY participated in a press conference last week with the Home Care Association of New York State (HCA) and the New York State Association of Health Care Providers (HCP) to urge the passage of A.7304 (Gottfried)/S.6640 (May), a bill that would repeal a provision in last year’s State Budget establishing a Request for Offers (RFO) authorization process for all Licensed Home Care Services Agencies (LHCSAs) offering Medicaid services. Our joint press release is available here.

The press conference yielded articles in Home Health Care NewsHomeCare Magazineand WAER 88.3 in Syracuse. It was also attended by representatives of WRGB News Channel 6 (Capital Region), the Watertown Daily Times, WRVO Public Media (Central New York), and WIVB News Channel 4 (Buffalo).

We urge LeadingAge NY members to take action in these final days of the legislative session to urge the passage of the bill. To learn more about the bill and send your legislators a pre-written message, please visit our Advocacy webpage here.
