New FAQs and Deadline Extended for LHCSA Private Pay Pilot

The Department of Health (DOH) has amended the Invitation and Requirements to Participate in the NY State of Health Private Pay Home Care Services Pilot Program. The new schedule, which extends the proposal submission, approval, and subsequent agreement dates by one week, is here.

The Department has also released new Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs) regarding the program, available here.

The new initiative is intended to build upon NY State of Health’s “marketplace model” and provide private paying consumers with a trusted source through which they can select a home care aide and make arrangements for care with licensed agencies that have met and agreed to criteria under contract with DOH.

The pilot is slated to include Nassau, Suffolk, and Westchester counties starting in November 2020, and the State intends to roll out the program statewide in 2021. For more details on the program, click here.
