Fiscal Intermediary Award Announcement Delayed Again

The Department of Health (DOH) has further delayed its announcement of the anticipated awards in response to its Request for Offers (RFO) seeking offers from qualified organizations to provide fiscal intermediary (FI) services for Medicaid beneficiaries in the Consumer Directed Personal Assistance Program (CDPAP). The RFO stems from legislation enacted as part of the State Fiscal Year (SFY) 2019-20 budget. Under the legislation, only entities that are selected to enter into FI contracts with the State will be permitted to provide FI services.

Managed Long Term Care (MLTC) guidance sets forth the process by which some current FIs will transition to closure and authorized FIs will proceed with delivering services. LeadingAge NY will keep members abreast of any new guidance that further clarifies this process. To learn more, please see our previous Intelligence articles on this matter.
