Alliance for Senior Care Unites with Local Nursing Home Residents and Legislators to Advocate for Increased Medicaid

Nursing home residents; care staff; legislators; and leaders from Friendly Senior Living, Jewish Senior Life, and St. John’s participated in a news conference on Wed., Feb. 21st at Jewish Senior Life to shed light on the potential impact of Governor Kathy Hochul’s proposed budget that includes $500 million in cuts to nursing homes, freezes the Medicaid operating rate, cuts the capital rate by 10 percent, and includes an additional $400 million in unidentified cuts to nursing home rates.

Selfhelp Community Services has inked a deal to relocate its headquarters from 520 Eighth Avenue to Northwood’s 1180 Sixth Avenue in Midtown Manhattan. The organization will take 46,000 square feet on the second and third floors of the office tower.
