LeadingAge NY members are encouraged to join us in Washington, D.C. from April 15^th-17^th for LeadingAge National’s 2024 Leadership Summit and Lobby Day.

The one-house budget proposals are expected to be released next week, on or before March 14^th. That means this is our last chance to urge State legislators to include LeadingAge NY budget priorities in their one-house budget bills. Members are asked to take these simple actions THIS WEEK!

The amendments go beyond the typical technical changes to include additional details and new proposals, some of which would negatively impact LeadingAge NY members further.

At this stage of the budget process, it is critical that we keep the funding needs of long term care and aging services providers top of mind. Members are encouraged to use these service line-specific digital advocacy letters to help us keep the pressure on legislators for the remainder of 2024-25 budget discussions. It only takes a few clicks to send a letter TODAY!

LeadingAge NY President and CEO Jim Clyne was selected to offer in-person testimony at the hearing held on Jan. 23^rd in Albany. LeadingAge NY also submitted written testimony to complement the three minutes allotted to speak.

As the State Legislative session and state budget process gets underway, LeadingAge New York and its members have launched an advocacy campaign calling on Governor Hochul and policy makers to reform and invest in nursing home reimbursement and provide funding that better matches the cost of providing care.
