Finish Line in Sight, Unbundled Services Payment Option Clears Next Hurdle
We are pleased to advise you that the proposed Adult Day Health Care (ADHC) Section 425 regulations, which will allow for the Unbundled Services Payment Option (USPO) were approved by the Public Health and Health Planning Council (PHHPC) on Aug. 7. The regulations are NOT yet effective, but will be within the next few weeks. The regulations have to be registered with the NYS Department of State and appear again in the State Register. We will advise members as soon as the regulations are effective.
Once the regulations are effective, members who are interested in using the USPO will be able to send a letter to DOH saying that your ADHC program will implement the USPO 30 days from the date of your letter. The ADHCC will provide the name of the contact at DOH as well as the sample letter when the regulations are made effective.
In order to help members prepare for this change, the ADHCC will hold a member-only conference call on Wed. Aug. 20 from 10:30 a.m.- 12:00 p.m. The conference call is free to members but you must register. Click here to register for the conference call. Once you register, you will receive the call-in number and handouts on Tues., Aug. 19.
In addition, the ADHCC will run our FYI Rules and Regulations training in the fall. This is a full one-day intensive on ADHC regulations and operational issues related to ADHC programs. We will run one session upstate and one session downstate. The dates will be provided soon. There will be a charge for these sessions.
We will keep members advised of developments related to the ADHC regulations.
