ABSTRACT:  LogistiCare Solutions awarded contract to manage transportation needs.

The Department of Health recently announced LogistiCare Solutions was awarded a contract to manage the transportation needs of New York City Medicaid enrollees. LogistiCare will manage transportation for ADHC programs that currently use Method 2 transportation and any program that orders transportation to a medical appointment. For your convenience, the announcement is provided as an attachment to this memo.

For those Medicaid enrollees not covered by a managed care plan, orders for transportation will be phased in by borough throughout 2012.

Practitioner/Facility Location and Implementation Date:

  • Brooklyn (Spring)
  • Queens (Late Spring)
  • Manhattan (Summer)
  • Bronx (Summer)
  • Staten Island (Fall)

Additionally, on January 1, 2013, LogistiCare will assume the management of transportation of enrollees covered by a managed care plan, resulting in a single process for medical practitioners and enrollees requesting transportation.

Region 7 members should plan to attend the upcoming Regional meeting held at 1:30 p.m. on Thursday, Feb. 16 at the Jewish Guild for the Blind, 15 W. 65th St. in Manhattan. DOH, LogistiCare, and Christine Fitzpatrick will be present at this meeting to talk about transportation management and answer questions.
