DSRIP Safety Net Appeal Deadline Extended
The Department of Health (DOH) has received a significant number of questions and comments, including those from LeadingAge NY and the Adult Day Health Care Council, on the safety net designation aspect of the Delivery System Reform Incentive Payment (DSRIP) program. As a result of our advocacy and the number of concerns raised, DOH has extended the appeal deadline from June 4, 2014 to June 11, 2014.
Licensed long term care providers, such as assisted living residences, Assisted Living Programs, licensed home care services agencies, adult homes and adult day health care programs were omitted from the eligible safety net provider lists posted on the DSRIP website. All long term care providers that wish to appeal the classification may do so by submitting the Safety Net appeal form, also found on the DSRIP website.
LeadingAge NY and ADHCC members are strongly encouraged to submit an appeal even if they are not currently working with a Performing Provider System.
In a DSRIP update, DOH requests that you select "Other" in the Provider Type and then indicate your provider type in the "Provider Type-Other" box. DOH further explains that the volume data needs to be reported in Section III and in the text box to the right on the form, provide additional information such as the source of the data and other information you believe will assist in evaluating your request. To help you with your appeal, please see the instructions provided on the DSRIP website.
