DOH Proposes Changes to FIDA IDT Policy
During the regular Friday afternoon Fully Integrated Duals Advantage (FIDA) plan call on Fri., May 15, the Department of Health (DOH) advised plans of their proposed revisions to the current Interdisciplinary Team (IDT) policy. The revisions are in response to concerns that have been raised by both plans and providers. A “redline” copy of the proposed revisions is available by clicking here. DOH is asking for plan feedback on the proposed changes.
Among the proposed changes are:
- revisions on how to handle an enrollee who does not cooperate with the assessment process;
- a 60-day assessment window for opt-ins and passively enrolled individuals; and
- the designation of a physician extender or registered nurse to serve in place of the physician.
For complete details please refer to the redline document.
DOH is seeking a fast turn-around on any comments to these revisions. Recommendations should be sent to Shanon Vollmer, FIDA project director at shanon.vollmer@health.ny.gov. DOH is seeking comments in Excel™ format referencing:
