SNAP Webinar

The Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP), formerly known as the Food Stamp program, helps millions of low-income older adults afford nutritious food. To maximize the benefit of SNAP, an upcoming webinar on Oct. 29 at 3 p.m. will address what seniors need to know to use their SNAP cards, and how to ensure they retain the benefit.

During the program, the Center on Budget and Policy Priorities (CBPP) and National Council on Aging (NCOA) will review:

  • Strategies to educate older adults on how to use the SNAP Electronic Benefits Transfer (EBT) card, and where to report any problems/card loss;
  • The process of recertification, and how to help clients avoid losing the benefit and having to start the application process all over again; and,
  • The wealth of resources available to counselors and consumers about SNAP, the application process, and where to seek help as enrollment obstacles arise.

This is the last of a four-part series of webinars on SNAP.  Click here to access the earlier programs.
