Another Balancing Incentive Program (BIP) Funding Opportunity

NYS Office for People with Developmental Disabilities (OPWDD) has posted a Request for Application (RFA) announcing the availability of funds from the State’s Balancing Incentive Program (BIP) Transformation Fund. According to the RFA "the BIP Transformation Fund offers a unique opportunity to engage New York’s broad network of highly qualified Developmental Disabilities providers, advocates and local governments in developing systemic improvements that address barriers encountered when working to transform the system of care for individuals with developmental disabilities." The RFA has similar components as the DOH BIP RFA, and specifies:

  • Use of funds and what the funds may not be used for;
  • The grant period is for a 10-month contract period;
  • Awards will be made until funds are exhausted;
  • For-profit entities are not eligible for this RFA; and
  • General expectations.

Please note the deliverables and tight turn-around times on page seven through nine. Letters of Intent are due Aug. 27; questions are due Sept. 3; RFA updates and responses to questions are targeted for Sept. 17; and the application is due by 5 p.m. on Oct. 22, 2014.
