NYAHSA changing to LeadingAge New York Sept. 27, 2011
Dear NYAHSA Members,
I’m delighted to tell you that the date for NYAHSA’s name change to “LeadingAge New York” has been set for Sept. 27, 2011.
Members voted overwhelmingly June 22 to amend NYAHSA’s certificate of incorporation to change the association’s name. It’s a positive move that further aligns us with LeadingAge, which changed its name from the American Association of Homes & Services for the Aging earlier this year. The New York State Attorney General’s Office has approved the necessary change to our certificate of incorporation, giving us the green light to become “LeadingAge New York.”
By renaming and rebranding with LeadingAge, the 11 other state affiliates that have followed suit and the additional 25 states that have indicated that they plan to change, NYAHSA reaps the benefit and undeniable power of LeadingAge’s monolithic brand.
As you know, this opportunity came at an especially advantageous time for NYAHSA, which moved in December from downtown Albany to Latham. We delayed reprinting letterhead, mailers, brochures and other collateral materials in anticipation of a new name, saving significant costs by making all the changes at once.
Please be sure to have your IT department add leadingageny.org to your safe sender or white list so you can continue to receive all of our communications.
You’ll begin to see changes to our Web site and our materials as we rebrand under the new name, and we’ll keep you fully informed of resultant changes to our URL and e-mail addresses.
I want to express my thanks for your involvement in this landmark association; as always, it is an honor to serve you.
Sincerely,
