The New Sprinkler Requirement: Sink or Swim

The New Sprinkler Requirement: Sink or Swim

Format: Audio Conference (Available Online)

Date/Time: Recorded: November 30, 2010 (Length of session: 1.5 hours)

Program Summary: On March 13, 2008, CMS published a final rule announcing the amendment of regulations requiring all nursing homes participating in the Medicare or Medicaid programs to be protected throughout by a supervised automatic sprinkler system and that it be installed in accordance with the 1999 edition of NFPA 13, Standard for the Installation of Sprinkler Systems. Compliance with this requirement must occur no later than August 13, 2013. One of the steps that providers are required to complete is to submit a CON application by January 1, 2011 if sprinkler installation or upgrades are necessary. The speakers will discuss the requirement of the CON application, help you understand the regulatory issues and will present possible areas of funding to help ensure your compliance with the new regulations.
