It’s Time to Come Out of the Dark… The New QMs are Here!

Program Summary: 

The Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services’ (CMS) Quality Measure/Quality Indicator (QM/QI) “black-out period” is coming to an end and more MDS 3.0 changes are on the way, effective April 1, 2012. Now is the time to discover the keys to understanding the new CMS Quality Measures that will be reported on CMS’ Nursing Home Compare website in the spring, and prepare your staff for the MDS changes that will impact coding and reimbursement. LeadingAge New York ProCare staff will provide you with all you need to know about these upcoming changes, including:

  • Information on MDS changes slated for April 2012 including planned/unplanned discharges, Care Area Assessments and discharge planning as related to Section Q.
  • Details on how the new quality measures are defined and calculated, how residents and records are selected, and an in-depth review of several measures using resident scenarios to demonstrate who is likely to flag on each of the outcomes.
