LeadingAge New York vigilantly monitors the pulse of state government, and a number of LeadingAge New York staff members are registered lobbyists and have earned valuable recognition both inside the Capitol and throughout the state. Accordingly, LeadingAge New York’s input is routinely sought by government leaders and policymakers. LeadingAge New York serves as its members’ government watchdog on all health and regulatory issues, and when you join, you know that you’re getting the very best in aggressive lobbying on issues that affect senior living and services.
Education: LeadingAge New York’s comprehensive conference offerings bring in experts from all over the country to some of New York’s most popular venues. Each year, LeadingAge New York produces several major conferences, including its enormously popular Spring Institute. Other conferences are tailored for financial managers as well as directors of social work, directors of nursing and activities and recreation directors. Though the conferences are open to nonmembers, the fees are significantly higher. LeadingAge New York also offers service line-specific audio conferences and an online learning center, allowing you to keep up on trends, topics and CEUs in a time-saving, cost-effective way.
Economy: LeadingAge New York and LeadingAge have a joint membership arrangement. This means that for your combined dues payment sent to LeadingAge New York, you receive the benefits and services of both associations, including LeadingAge’s money-saving group purchasing. LeadingAge New York, formerly the New York Association of Homes & Services for the Aging (NYAHSA), was founded in 1961 and represents not-for-profit, mission-driven and public continuing care providers, including nursing homes, senior housing, adult care facilities, continuing care retirement communities, assisted living and community service programs. LeadingAge New York is the state affiliate of the national association, LeadingAge.
