Partner in Quality Nominations

Dear Colleagues,

Over the past two years, as Medicaid Redesign has been rolling out and impacting providers and seniors across the state, LeadingAge New York has asked members to participate in numerous advocacy initiatives including advocacy days, letter writing campaigns and virtual lobby days. We have frequently called upon our legislators to assist us with budgetary, legislative and regulatory issues. Thankfully, many legislators have responded to our advocacy efforts. LeadingAge New York has developed the Partners in Quality program to recognize those legislators for their help as they continue to fight on our behalf to minimize potential budget cuts and maximize the voices of providers and seniors when debating critical legislation.

Now that lawmakers are back in their district offices for the remainder of the year, it is the perfect time to thank them for their work on our behalf. If your legislator has been a strong supporter of your organization, consider honoring them with a Partners in Quality Awards Ceremony. These awards can be presented to local, state or federal elected officials. Simply fill out a nomination form, and if your lawmakers are selected for an award, LeadingAge New York will work with you to secure a date and time to host an award ceremony at your organization. LeadingAge New York will also coordinate logistics with the nominated lawmakers and provide an engraved award for presentation at the event.

LeadingAge New York members who have already hosted Partners in Quality events have discovered that they create goodwill with legislators, further nurturing those relationships, and generate media buzz. Your organization can benefit positively from these events, and your lawmaker will be honored and motivated to continue the work on behalf of seniors and the providers that serve them.
